When looking for a pool there are a few things to keep in mind.

The most important factor is the construction of the pool.

Pools can be made from Aluminum, Steel or Resin(plastic).

Aluminum Pools:

Pound for pound, aluminum is TWICE as strong as steel.

Aluminum is made to resist corrosion and rust - making it a preferred choice for consumers, especially those looking to add a salt system to their pool.

Aluminum is so reliable that many other industries use it for their projects as well. The airline, automotive and construction industries choose aluminum when they need a safe, long-lasting material that can withstand the elements.

Aluminum pools come with a lifetime warranty.

Steel Pools:

Pools made from steel are galvanized to help prevent rusting. Our Steel pools at Splash Works have a multi-stage coating process with PRO-KOTE 2000 sealant to further protect the pool aganist rusting.

This system enhances the heavy guage corrugated steel by encasing it with up to eleven protective coats, including hot dipped galvanizing and a corrosion inhibitor on both the inside and outside of the walls.

Splash Works' steel pools also feature 3 aluminum pieces to add strength and durability. The bottom track of the pool, enclosure bar and the bead receiver are the main pieces that hold the pool together. All three pieces are made from alumnium to give our pools outstanding durability and strength. This feature also elminiates rusting in the places where rusting is common.

Resin (plastic) Pools:

Another way to make pools is to use plastic, also called resin. Using resin is the cheapest way to make a pool, so these pools are often the least expensive. However, these pools do not stand up in Canada's climate where freezing and thawing occur every winter. If you are looking for a pool to last many summers, you may want to consider spending a bit more to get a pool that will last.
